About Me

I came to massage late – I studied English and journalism at BU and NYU and then ended up running my own fashion business for ten years. One day I woke up and needed big change – needed to be doing something good for someone somewhere. I ended up in massage school and instantly fell in love.

I started a private practice five months after I received my license and it challenges me every day. I love my work, and find the human body endlessly fascinating. The mind may lie but the body never does. Listening to the body and giving it what it needs is preventative medicine at its most basic form. The body holds on to everything – stress, trauma, emotion, energy. Regular massage clears the body of these blockages – effectively preventing them from developing into chronic conditions, injuries, or even disease.

I specialize in deep tissue work and started out working with athletes (marathon runners, triathletes, surfers, tennis pro’s). I enjoyed the crisis management aspect – different injuries every week, long term treatment of chronic conditions…and I developed a way of working based on listening to the body’s immediate needs while creating lasting changes. Now I treat a wide range of clients dealing with many conditions including rheumatoid arthritis, HIV, scoliosis, neuropathies, disc injuries, sports injuries, pre and post natal issues, and cancer. I never give the same massage twice, and my goal is to have my client not need me any more – reach a point where the condition has healed, the pain is gone – real change has taken place.
